Novak Djokovic Biography
Novak Djokovic, also often spelled Djokovic (Serbian: Новак Ђоковић) (Belgrade, 22 May 1987) is a Serbian professional tennis player. At this moment Djokovic including five grand slam tournaments to his name: the Australian Open 2008, 2011 and 2012, Wimbledon 2011 and the U.S. Open 2011. Since July 4, 2011, after winning his first Wimbledon title, he is the number 1 in the world.
Youth
Djokovic was the first child of Srđan and Dijana born in 1987. Later he got two brothers, Marko and Đorđe. He started playing tennis when he was 4 years old and on his 12th he was allowed to Nikola Pilic Tennis Academy in Munich. This fluent in Serbian, German and English.
Career
2006In 2006, by his great form in the rankings. He started the year as 78th, but also by reaching the quarterfinals at Roland Garros and the 4th round at Wimbledon, he found himself back in the top 40. Three weeks after the success at Wimbledon, he won his first professional title in Amersfoort he defeated Nicolas Massu in the final. He lost no sets in this tournament. 2007Ðoković won his 3rd title in Adelaide at the beginning of the new year. During the Australian Open champion Roger Federer, he came in the fourth round by him Ðoković disabled. On 1 April 2007 he won his first ATP Masters tournament in Miami. Djokovic best Grand Slam performance in 2007 was reaching the semifinals in both Paris (Roland Garros), as the place in the top four at Wimbledon, where, after a 5 hour match won the Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis, but in the semifinal against Nadal had to give up because of a back injury. In August Ðoković knew his second ATP Masters Series tournament win, this time it was Montreal. In the U.S. Open, he took the final, where he eventually narrowly losing to defending champion Roger Federer.
2008His best performance came in Melbourne in 2008. On the new ground of Australian tennis was the Serb unbeatable. He defeated include Lleyton Hewitt, David Ferrer and top favorite Roger Federer. He was not the sensation, his opponent in the finals, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga knew as unseeded players including Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Richard Gasquet and Mikhail Joezjny to send home. In the final he beat the Frenchman in 4 sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-62. This he won his first grand-slam title. At Wimbledon Djokovic lost in the second round. Here he had to acknowledge the superiority of Marat Safin, who won in 3 sets.
2010Djokovic began the 2010 season by reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open where he lost to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
In early February Ðoković did participate in the ATP tournament in Rotterdam. He reached the semifinals where he lost to Mikhail Joezjny. In March Ðoković played two Masters tournaments. On the ATP tournament of Indian Wells he lost in the 4th round of the subsequent winner Ivan Ljubicic and the ATP tournament in Miami, he lost all in the first round of the Belgian Olivier Rochus.
At Roland Garros 2010 Ðoković reached the quarterfinals where he lost to Jurgen Melzer in a five setter.
At Wimbledon, he reached the semifinals. He lost to Tomas Berdych 3-6, 6-7, 3-6.
At the U.S. Open Ðoković reached the finals where he lost to the No. 1 Rafael Nadal in 4 sets, 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-2
2011In 2011 the dominance of Djokovic was so great that his season was included in discussions about the most dominant tennis seasons ever. Thus began the year with 41 wins in a row, only one less than John McEnroe in 1984. He won a record number of 5 Masters Series tournaments in a season, and had at the end of the year a balance of 10-1 against his greatest rival, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. On 30-01-2011 Djokovic won for the second time in his career the Australian Open. In the finals he defeated Andy Murray in three sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-3. In the semifinals of Roland Garros was Roger Federer ended the winning streak of Ðoković in 2011 (41 games undefeated). Federer won the match in 4 sets, 7-6 (5), 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5). On July 3, 2011 the Serb won his first Wimbledon title, in the final 4-6, 1-6, 6-1 and 3-6, two-time Wimbledon winner (2008, 2010) Rafael Nadal to defeat.
By reaching the finals he secured the first place in the world on 4 July 2011.
At the U.S. Open Djokovic seemed, as in Paris, to beaches in the semifinal against Roger Federer. Despite a lag of two sets of zero and two match points against Federer in the fifth set for the Serbs knew the game but to win. The first match point was eliminated with a magnificent forehand, which was recorded in all sport annual reviews. In the final on 12/09/2011 then he defeated defending champion Rafael Nadal in four sets, 6-2 6-4 6-7 (3) 6-1, and won his first title at Flushing Meadows.
2012At the Australian Open Djokovic won the title. This supports himself in the company of Rod Laver, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal as players in the Open era three consecutive Grand Slam titles won. Without many significant problems, he took the semifinal. Here he defeated Andy Murray in the first 4 hours and 50 minutes, 6-3,3-6,6-7,6-1,7-5. The final was the longest Grand Slam final in the Open era with 5 hours and 53 minutes. Rafael Nadal was finally defeated by 5-7,6-4,6-2,6-7 (5) ,7-5, which Djokovic for the seventh consecutive time a final Nadal won.
Davis CupDjokovic is good friends with fellow tennis player Andy Murray. Murray was one of the players in April 2006 in Glasgow was part of the British Davis Cup Team. The British lost the Serbian Davis Cup team. Djokovic won the fourth game of Greg Rusedski, the state thus became 3-1 in favor of the Serbs, who play the game won by the British. In 2010 he won with his compatriots the Davis Cup, he played an important role in the victory to win by seven singles, including two in the final. The final was won 3-2 to France
