Life and career

Jason Sudeikis was born in September 1975 in Fairfax, Va., and grew up with two sisters in Overland Park, Kansas, where in 1994 he graduated from high school graduation at the Shawnee Mission West High School.   His paternal ancestors came from Lithuania, he is a German mother and Irish descent.   His uncle and his mother’s brother is actor George Wendt, known for his role as “Norm Peterson” in Cheers.

Earlier in his career in the 1990s had Sudeikis smaller appearances as a comedian and a supporting role in the TV movie Alien Avengers II (1998). In 2003 he was hired as a comedy writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL) and took occasional extras roles in the show. Later he also received major roles in the skits, and since 2006 he is a regular member of the comedy ensemble.   In addition to his work on SNL Sudeikis turns since 2007, feature films, including Semi-Pro, What Happens in Vegas (both 2008 ), The Bounty Hunter (2010) with Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler as well as all permits – A week without Rules (2011) alongside Owen Wilson.

Sudeikis also played from 2007 to 2010 in a recurring role on 30 Rock. In 2004 he married actress Kay Cannon, the marriage was divorced in 2010. From July 2010 to January 2011 he was romantically involved with actress January Jones.   On 5 June 2011 he hosted the MTV Movie Awards.
